Film Club

Organiser: Ian Smith

We aim to show six films each year in Yew Tree Hall, mostly during the darker evenings from October to March, and with something for everyone – older classics (such as Roman Holiday with Audrey Hepburn) and newer releases (Conclave with Ralph Fiennes); eastern (My Favourite Cake, Iran) and western (Small Things Like These, Ireland). Tickets are £6, and there's a bar, as well as a raffle with a prize of two free Film Night tickets, with any profits going towards the upkeep of the hall.

We use high-quality digital cinema equipment provided by Cine North (part of the Penrith-based charity Eden Arts), and we choose films from their diverse selection of titles, updated quarterly.  With a superb 4 x 3-metre screen, great sound quality – and subtitles, too – it's a friendly night out at the movies!

Contact Ian on 07947 748816 or at isumisu@gmail.com for more details... and get involved, by helping to choose the films that we screen!
